...told me that the Ghost Series II is a tribute to the Chrysler 300.
Points headlights and instrument cluster.

I see how the headlights are the same shape (AND THAT IS LITERALLY ALL THE HAVE IN COMMON.)
That's like saying every car is a homage to the Camry because all the wheels are round.

He wasn't serious, was he?
![]() 03/05/2014 at 15:01 |

Well the 300 is older than the Ghost Series II... He may have a point.

The HUD on the Rolls looks pretty nifty, I must say.
Also your friend needs removed from the gene pool.

I own a first gen Chrysler 300, and I'm a Mopar fanboy, and even I ask, who in the fuck would make a tribute car to the 300?
![]() 03/05/2014 at 15:01 |

Hmm, how do I say this... Your coworker is a dumbass.

Lol. Idiot...
It's one thing to have affection for any particular brand, we all do it, and there's nothing really wrong with it. Unless, you get to the point where you make utterly ridiculous statements like that.

Yeah, that's the way the copying was going. It's not like the 300 tried to copy Bentley and Rolls with their remodel. People can dream I guess.
On a side note, I saw another old 300 break down in front of a California Pizza Kitchen this weekend. They pulled up to the 10 minute parking area to run in and pick up their order and in less than 5 minutes their car killed it's self and wouldn't start for anything. The people I was with thought I was clairvoyant because when they pulled up I said "those things are always broken down, I would park in a long term spot"... and then the lady couldn't leave. It was probably extra funny due to our drinking.

Did you...did you hit him?
![]() 03/05/2014 at 15:03 |

Yes, one of the most prestigious coach makers in modern history was so impressed by a vehicle designed by one of the most unreliably manufacturers in modern history that it decided to knock off its design as tribute...

Yes he was, fanboys will be fanboys.
![]() 03/05/2014 at 15:04 |

No.
It is literally impossible for the 300 to have inspired ANYTHING on the Ghost Series II.
LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE
LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE
LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE

I believe it, I once met a mopar fanboy who told me all about how "Magazines say the challenger handles better than a corvette!"
I don't know which group is dumber on average - mustang fanboys or mopar fanboys.

Rolls Royce never have, and never will, take inspiration from grassroots American muscle cars.

If he likes the 300 he'll really like the Ghibli :p

You accidentally posted a picture of a Mustang instead of an Accord Coupe.

The guy who designed that car must be so flattered now.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the 300 is better looking. Yeah, I went there.

I look at it and think reflexively 'rebodied 7-series.'
![]() 03/05/2014 at 16:24 |

He is right.
It looks like a Phantom, until a Phantom pulls up.

I can see how he would think so from the headlights, but not the gauge cluster. No way in hell on the gauge cluster.

Does that then mean that all cars are grounded to the ground?
![]() 03/05/2014 at 16:46 |

And then charge a metric fuckton more for it.
![]() 03/05/2014 at 16:47 |

one metric fuck ton of $ per one metric fuck to of weight...

No, but workplace ethics, did.
![]() 03/05/2014 at 17:24 |

Then why do Ghosts exist?

it just needs suicide doors.

will you be buying a newer 300 when the time comes?
![]() 03/05/2014 at 18:27 |

Blasphemy!!! Seriously though you might be on to something. I think Chrysler really slept their game up with the gen 2 300. I love Bentley but that Ghost isn't that good looking. Sure I'd DD it if a was a millionaire.
![]() 03/05/2014 at 18:31 |

The ghost is nice, but I'm at the point where it's kind of
![]() 03/05/2014 at 19:59 |

I like the thing a lot, as long as you take care of it, its a good car, but if I trade it in, it will probably be for a new 300 yeah. It's my wife's car so the next choice will be hers but she likes it and I approve, maintenance is easy enough on them, we would both prefer a challenger but we got a kid so need the 4 doors.
![]() 03/06/2014 at 02:03 |

"need" lol kids are short they can climb on in the seat back.
![]() 03/06/2014 at 07:46 |

Oh I know, that's why my car is a Porsche 944, no one ever rides in my back seats, and if they do who cares, it's not me that has to be back there.
![]() 03/06/2014 at 10:48 |
|
that's why I bout at two door as well. I hate big cars, and small sedans are boring generally. My coupe isn't as fun as yours though.
![]() 03/06/2014 at 10:50 |
|
Yeah, I do like her choice, it reminds me of what an American car should be, big, lots of power, and it doesn't really try to be anything else, it's kind of fun but I prefer the 944.
What do you have?
![]() 03/06/2014 at 11:13 |

I drive a 2001 Civic EX coupe. Nothing fancy, but it's fun, an it's got a sunroof, and a stick what more do you need... besides RWD :(.
I don't know if you live in the north or not, but I've driven an AWD 300C in the snow and it was such a blast. It changed my whole opinion of the car. I'd love to have an '11 or newer AWD Charger R/T.
![]() 03/06/2014 at 11:16 |

Well, a Civic is still a pretty fun car. First car of mine was an 89 DX.
I live in VA, but I used to live in Kansas, where I bought my car, it's the RWD model, and let me tell you, as long as you are smart and have snow tires on it, it's pretty damn fun in the snow as well, however I only have the V6, not the V8 :(. I think somewhere down the line in the next few years I will trade in for a new 300, this time the V8.

If you guy like the one you have now for sure get an '11 up 300C. The interior is so much better on the new ones. It actually feels like a luxury car.
I had a 91 Civic hatch a few cars ago. I loved that car. but it's a-whole-nother world from my '01. I'd rather have my lighter smaller a/c and power steering free '91, but sadly she was rear ended, and is now sitting in a field.
I once my Civic is paid off I'm hoping to get a real fun car. something light RWD and preferably carbonated something like a Chevy Monza, 260z(240zs are out of my price range), early fox body mustang, or a Volvo 122 if I can find one.
